The Fourth

As you can see from the pictures, we had a great time. Friday we went to Menan and enjoyed the festivities. The kids played games and got prizes. There was food and yummy drinks. The frozen lemonade was fabulous! The line for hamburgers and hot dogs was enormous!! The kids jumped in bouncy castles and had a great time with their cousin's. I found a plaque at the craft fair that had the cutest quote. I am going to get something made up with the quote on it. It said "One of the best ways to have a little Heaven in your home is to have someone you love in Heaven." It is so true.

Then was the parade. The kids got candy. Myra slept through some of it, but then woke up and we doused her with water. They had fun seeing the animals and kids. It was cute. Violet even danced along with the dance troupe. We then headed to the hotel. We enjoyed swimming in the pool. We were the only ones. Myra had so much fun. It was her first time in a big pool. She splashed and splashed. the other kids enjoyed themselves too.

Grandma Crook was able to read books 2 & 3 of the Twilight series while we were there. I think she liked them! After we swam we headed to Great grandpas for dinner. Then Aunt Donna pulled out all the fun things she's gotten. Glow sticks, light up flashy ball necklaces, and of course, fireworks. Everyone had fun with the sparklers and fountains. A couple of the tanks actually worked and "drove" along the road.

We then headed back into town for the fireworks display. It was good. Myra even had fun watching. She was tired, but wasn't scared by the loud noises. Ashton was more freaked than she was. There were a few fireworks that were a little too close to the ground, but we had a nice view. The finale was one of the best I had ever seen. Great Grandpa sluffed the fireworks. As did Clint and Connor. They think their baby needs sleep or something! ;)

The biggest disappointment of the day was not hearing patriotic music. Our cd player in the van is still busted and NONE of the radio stations played a single patriotic song ALL Day. (well at least no while I was listening tot he radio). What is wrong with people? I was bummed about that, but overall it was a fun day. The kids were worn out, and went to sleep well. It was a good day. Plus the kids all wore their matching patriotic squeaky shoe. Cuteness.
